Butterscotch Brownies
1/2 cup butter or shortening 2 cup packed brown sugar 2 teaspoon vanilla 2 large egg 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour * 1 cup chopped nuts 2 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon salt
Step 1: Heat oven to 350. Grease bottom and sides of 9”x13” pan with butter. Step 2: Melt butter in a medium sauce pan over low heat; remove from heat. Stir in brown sugar, vanilla, and egg. Stir in remaining ingredients. Spread in pan. Batter will be thick. Step 3: Bake 25 minutes or until center is set. Cool slightly in pan on wire rack. Cut into 2 inch squares while warm.
* If using self rising flour omit baking powder and salt.
